# Perdido Key OG

> The local guide to Perdido Key, Florida and Orange Beach, Alabama — one stretch of Gulf Coast beach split by the FL/AL state line. Run by Chris Jackson, a local resident (moved here from Nashville in 2021) — not a tourism board. Best known for live, both-sides-of-the-line beach conditions (lifeguard flag status, water temperature, surf, tides, rip-current risk, red tide), plus where to eat, fishing, events, and local news.

Geography: Perdido Key is in Escambia County, Florida (near Pensacola). Orange Beach is in Baldwin County, Alabama. The two are adjacent across the state line at the Flora-Bama. The area also covers Innerarity Point, Ono Island, Perdido Pass, Johnson Beach / Gulf Islands National Seashore, Foley/OWA, and The Wharf.
