Can you get around Perdido Key without a car? Is it walkable?
Honestly, no — Perdido Key is not a walkable destination, and you'll want a car for most of a trip. From a beachfront condo you can walk to the sand and maybe a nearby restaurant or the Flora-Bama, but grocery runs, charters, state parks, and everything in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores are a drive. Bikes work for short hops; rideshare exists but is thin and pricey.
What you can do on foot
If you stay near the west end, you can walk to the beach and to the Flora-Bama, Sandshaker, and a couple of restaurants. Beyond that little cluster, distances open up fast along Perdido Key Drive.
Bikes and rideshare
A beach cruiser covers the Key's flat main road nicely for short trips, and the paved Backcountry Trail over in Gulf State Park is great for riding. Uber and Lyft operate but coverage is spotty and surge-prone in season — don't count on them for a fishing charter at 6am.
The honest take
To reach charters at the marinas, the state parks, The Wharf, or the airport, you'll want your own wheels. Rent a car at Pensacola airport and plan a car-based trip; use bikes for local hops.
