Perdido Key Trading Co is the locally-owned answer to the big souvenir barns across the state line — a shop on Perdido Key Drive doing the classic beach-store inventory at a scale where somebody actually picked the stock. It sits right on the main drag through the Key, so you’ll pass it on every run to the beach or the grocery store, which is the whole point of a store like this.
What you’ll find
Shells, t-shirts, swimwear, and the general run of souvenirs you came to the beach expecting to buy. It covers the same ground as the chain stores, just smaller and closer if you’re staying on the Key — no need to cross into Alabama for a raft and a fridge magnet. Think of it as the vacation-emergency stop: the forgotten swimsuit, the kid who needs a bucket now, the shirt for the relative who wasn’t invited.
Who it’s for
Anyone staying on the Florida side who’d rather not drive to Orange Beach for a five-dollar problem. Kids like the shells; adults like being in and out in ten minutes. If you’d rather spend the souvenir money on the Florida side of the line, this is where you do it.
Good to know
Being locally owned counts for something with us — the Key doesn’t have many retail spots that aren’t part of a chain, and we’d like to keep the ones we’ve got. There’s no website, so hours are whatever’s on the door; in the off-season, drive by before counting on it. It’s an easy stop along the main drag on the Florida side.
