The Beach Bun opened in 2025 on Perdido Beach Boulevard, a block off the sand, and it fills the slot every beach town needs and Orange Beach was short on: a family-owned counter-service joint doing smash burgers and chili dogs fast, fresh, and cheap. The owners actually live in Orange Beach, which around here is worth mentioning — this isn’t a chain testing a market.
What to order
The menu splits into Surf Shack Smash Burgers on one side and Beach Dogs on the other, with Tiki Fries getting their own following. Smash burgers and dogs is a short menu on purpose — it’s the do-a-few-things-well model, and reviewers keep landing on the same words: fast, fresh, friendly.
When to go
This is the lunch answer when the crew is sandy, hungry, and nobody wants a forty-five minute wait at a sit-down seafood place. Counter service means you’re eating in minutes, and the prices are pitched at economical rather than tourist.
