Most Gulf seafood spots — including Doc's — run cheaper lunch portions of the exact dinner dishes. Same fryer, same fish, smaller bill. Show up before 2pm.

City Donut is a cheap, genuinely good morning stop. For a beer-and-a-basket lunch that won't hurt, the Sandshaker is a dive institution (and the birthplace of the Bushwacker).
