Alabama Extreme works the quiet side of Orange Beach — out of Bear Point Marina on Bay La Launch Avenue, on the back bays, well away from the Perdido Pass boat parade. It’s a dedicated jet ski operation rather than a marina doing a bit of everything, and the location is the whole argument: they say they have the shortest no-wake zone in the area, which means you’re up on plane and actually riding instead of idling down a channel watching your rental clock run.
The rides
Jet ski rentals carry one, two, or three riders depending on the machine. The most popular booking is the waverunner dolphin tour, a guided run out into the bays where the dolphins tend to be — you’re on your own ski, following a guide who knows where to look. The tours also pass some of the wrecks Hurricane Sally left behind in 2020, which is a strange little bit of local history to see from the water. There are jet car rentals too, two people max, if you want something odder to drive than a ski.
Who it’s for
The back-bay water is calmer than the Gulf, which makes this a reasonable pick for first-timers and for kids riding along with a parent. Confident riders get the benefit of the short no-wake zone; nervous ones get flat water. It’s also the closest option for anyone staying on the Bear Point or east-Canal-Road side of town, where the Boulevard marinas are a long drive back west.

Booking is online through their site, and summer slots go early — this isn’t a walk-up operation on a July Saturday. Check their site for current rates, rider requirements, and what to bring. It’s a bit off Perdido Beach Boulevard, so put it in the GPS rather than guessing, and glance at the flag report before you go; it mostly matters for the Gulf, but a windy day is a bumpy day even on the bay.
