Avenue Pub is the coastal outpost of a Tuscaloosa gastropub, parked at Hudson Marina on Terry Cove off South Wilson Boulevard. Worth setting expectations: despite some loose “beachfront” marketing, this is a cove/marina-side spot, not Gulf-front — which is its own kind of good. Deck seating down by the water, plenty of boat parking, and dogs are welcome. You’re in the marina district just north of Perdido Pass, a few minutes from the beach road but a different world from it.
What to order
Everything’s made in-house daily. The smoked tuna dip is the move to start; from there it’s fish & chips, grouper tacos, the chicken club if you’ve had enough seafood for one week, or the big “Orange Beach Feast” when the table wants to share. Casual scratch food done right, with local beer and cocktails to match.
Who it’s for
The after-boat crowd, mostly — people coming in off Terry Cove with a sunburn and a dog. It works for families at an early dinner, and it works for a couple who wants a drink on the water without the Gulf-front price tag. It is not the place for a quiet dressed-up night; that’s a different list.
Good to know
Easygoing, dog-friendly, and built for an afternoon by the water rather than a fancy night out. Pull up by boat or by car — there’s room either way. Marina restaurants run on marina time in summer, so a wait on a Saturday evening isn’t a surprise. Check their site for the current menu and hours. Our Perdido Pass marinas page covers the rest of the neighborhood, and eat & drink has the full Orange Beach list.
