Bama Beach Buggies rents electric-powered beach carts for hauling gear, chairs, coolers, and supplies out to the sand. It is a delivery business rather than a storefront: they bring the cart to your condo or rental house anywhere from Fort Morgan through Gulf Shores to Orange Beach, and pick it up when you leave. From Perdido Key that is a short drive west, though since delivery is the point, you may never see their shop.
What you get
The fleet includes two models, the OG Bama and the Big Daddy, each fitted with USB charging. The OG Bama carries up to 300 pounds — six chairs, an umbrella, a large cooler, and the usual pile of beach supplies. The Big Daddy is five inches longer and swallows eight adult chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, a tent or canopy, beach toys, and a surfboard. Both run on a thumb throttle, steer easily when loaded, and have removable side rails. A full charge lasts about a week of normal use, and a charging station and a cable lock come with the rental.
Who it’s for
Anyone whose walk to the beach involves a parking lot, a boardwalk, or a family that packs like they are moving. The people who get the most out of it are groups in Gulf-front condos with long dune crossovers, and anyone with a bad back who is tired of being the designated mule.

Booking is by email: send your accommodation address, dates, and which cart you want. Daily and weekly rentals are offered, with four to seven consecutive days counting as a week — check their site for current rates.
