Southwind Marina sits on Sinton Drive at Innerarity Point, on the Intracoastal about a mile and a half west of the Pensacola Pass — which is the whole pitch. If you keep a boat here, the run to open Gulf water is short, and if you’re chartering, the captain spends the morning fishing instead of motoring. It’s a Pensacola address on paper, but it’s the marina closest to Perdido Key proper, a few minutes from the bridge.
What you get
Ninety wet slips and 42 dry-storage spots, offered permanent, seasonal, and transient, so a visiting boat can tie up for a week. The docks and finger piers were recently remodeled, with potable water and 110/30-amp and 220/50-amp power at the slips. Fuel is non-ethanol gas and high-flow diesel. The ship store handles the basics — ice, beer, snacks — and the restrooms are climate-controlled, which you’ll appreciate in August. There’s a shaded deck with tables, and the tiki bar gives non-boaters a reason to come down to the docks at all.
On the water
The marina is home base for charters covering fishing, scuba, snorkeling, dolphin watching, and sunset cruises. If you’re picking a trip, it pays to compare captains on our charters page before you book, and to check the Gulf the morning of — a rough Pass makes for a long day. Good to know
It’s under new ownership and mid-upgrade, so expect some work in progress and some improvements that weren’t there last season. Check their site for current slip availability and fuel details.
