Submit a photo

We're actively building the visual side of the site with real photographers, real venues, and real readers. If you've got Gulf Coast imagery worth sharing — Perdido Key, Orange Beach, Pensacola Beach, the bay, a charter coming in, the Bama at sunset — we want to see it.

Three ways to participate:

Reader submission: a great photo you took on the Key. Form below.
Photographer partnership: licensed work, barter-for-byline, or paid assignments. Note your terms below.
Venue press kit: if you own/run a place we cover, send us your press photos. Form below.

Your name (or credit name as you want it shown) Your email Website / Instagram / portfolio (optional) What kind of submission? Where was the photo taken? (place, area, or general location) When was it taken? (approximate is fine) Link(s) to the photo(s) We don't accept file uploads directly here (yet). Drop the photo somewhere we can grab it — a Dropbox/Drive link, a WeTransfer, even an Instagram link. Anything else we should know I've read and agree to the Photo Submission Terms. I confirm I own the rights to this photo (or have permission), that any identifiable people consented, and that the image is not AI-generated.

What kind of photos we're looking for

The kind of photo that makes someone scrolling stop. Specifically:

Gulf-front sunset that doesn't look like every other gulf-front sunset
The Perdido Pass at golden hour with boats coming in
The Bama from above (drone — but only if flown legally — see below)
Working charter dock at 3 p.m. — fish coming off the boats
The interior of a real Gulf Coast restaurant before service
Locals at the Sandbar on a Sunday (with everyone consenting)
Hurricane sky — the lead-in or the recovery
Winter on the Key (the locals' version, nobody on the sand)
Sea turtle tracks at sunrise (without disturbing the nest)
Vintage signage, neon, vernacular architecture

What we don't want: AI imagery of real places, generic stock-feel sunsets, watermarked-corner shots, screenshots of someone else's Instagram, anything where you don't hold the rights.

About drones

Drone photography in this region requires real care. Class D airspace around NAS Pensacola overlaps a lot of the FL-side Key. Gulf Islands National Seashore is FAA restricted. We will not publish drone work that wasn't flown legally — Part 107 cert or hobbyist with proper LAANC authorization. Tell us how it was flown when you submit.

For local photographers — partnership terms

Our standard barter-for-byline offer:

Permanent byline on the image caption + a linked photographer-credit profile on /credits/
"Local Lens" Drift feature interview piece — content for us, SEO + backlink for you
5–10 photos licensed non-exclusively for 2-year web use
You can revoke specific images anytime; we honor it within 30 days

For paid assignments, we work with limited-license structures (regional, 2-year web). Day rates negotiable depending on scope. Email us to discuss.
