Class Act is a family-owned two-boat operation out of slip B-4 at Zeke’s Marina, run by Capts. Dale Woodruff and Bryan Hopkins. Having two very different hulls is the quiet advantage: whatever size your group or ambition, one of them fits.
The boats
The Class Act is the big one — 52 feet, carrying 6 to 10 passengers (up to 15 on 12-hour trips), with a fully air-conditioned cabin, satellite TV, and a Green Egg grill on deck, which is not standard charter equipment and we respect it. Daddy’s Baby is the 38-foot six-pack for smaller private groups.
The trips
The range is wide: 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12-plus hours, up to 18-hour and two-day runs. Short trips work snapper, triggerfish, and Spanish mackerel; the long ones get into grouper, scamp, amberjack, wahoo, and tuna water. All gear and licenses are provided.
Good to know
Fish cleaning is complimentary on trips under six hours (thirty cents a pound after that — they’re upfront about it, which we appreciate). Between the two boats and the trip menu, this is a good first call when your group is an awkward size for a standard six-pack.
