The Gulf is the open-air, shipping-container restaurant at the Pass — entirely outdoor, picnic-table seating, gulf-front, and one of the most photographed spots on the Alabama coast for valid reasons. Sunset hits this place perfectly. The cocktail program is one of the better ones on the Boulevard. The food trends toward elevated beach fare — fish tacos, grain bowls, a burger that holds up.
The catch: it’s outdoor, so when the weather goes sideways it goes sideways for everyone. Reservations don’t exist; it’s first-come first-served. In season the lines look intimidating but turnover is fast — the kitchen is set up for it.
If you’ve got out-of-town visitors who want a “this is what Orange Beach looks like” night, this is the easy answer. Pictures will happen. The pictures will be earned.
