Jet skis
Hourly rentals available from operators on both sides of the Pass. Fun on flat days, miserable on choppy ones, dangerous on Pass days.
The basics
- Hourly rentals from $80-$150/hr depending on operator and season. Half-day and full-day rates discount.
- Boater safety card still required to operate, same as for any motorized vessel.
- Most rentals confine you to a defined zone — usually a bay area or a marked area off a designated beach. Going outside that zone voids the rental and likely your damage deposit.
Where you can and can't ride
- Yes: defined bay areas, marked rental zones, designated PWC (personal watercraft) zones. Most rentals run out of bay-side operators in OB or out of Pensacola Beach.
- No: Perdido Pass itself (no-wake zone), inside the marina basins, in front of state park beaches, anywhere there's a "no PWC" sign, and within stated distances of swimmers.
- Speed limits apply and are enforced. Just because the ski can do 60 doesn't mean the no-wake zone is optional.
Etiquette
Jet skis have a reputation. Mostly earned. Don't be the reason. Stay out of swimmers' lanes, don't run circles around fishermen, give boats with lines in the water a wide berth, watch your wake near small craft and paddlers. Locals talk and the marinas hear about repeat offenders.
Operators
Several big watersports operators rent jet skis along the Boulevard and out of bay-side ramps. We'll list specific operators after verification. Operators welcome to submit themselves →
